The Musée de l’Orangerie is a renowned art museum located in the western corner of the Tuileries Gardens, just steps from Place de la Concorde in the heart of Paris. This elegant museum is celebrated for its outstanding collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art and offers visitors a peaceful yet enriching cultural experience.
The museum is world-famous as the permanent home of Claude Monet’s monumental Water Lilies series. These eight large murals are displayed in specially designed oval rooms filled with natural light, allowing visitors to experience Monet’s vision in an immersive and contemplative setting. The Water Lilies galleries are considered one of the highlights of Paris’s art scene and attract visitors from around the world.
Beyond Monet, the Musée de l’Orangerie houses an exceptional collection of works by major artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Visitors can admire masterpieces by Paul Cézanne, Henri Matisse, Amedeo Modigliani, Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Henri Rousseau, Alfred Sisley, Chaim Soutine, Maurice Utrillo, and other leading figures of modern art. These works provide a rich overview of artistic movements that shaped modern painting.
The museum’s redesigned layout creates a strong connection between Monet’s Water Lilies and the École de Paris (School of Paris) collection. This fluid and educational visitor route allows for a deeper understanding of artistic developments during the early 20th century. At the entrance to the permanent collection, visitors encounter striking polyptychs by Joan Mitchell, on loan from the Musée national d’Art moderne, alongside large-scale works by influential modern artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Modigliani, Derain, and Douanier Rousseau.
The monographic galleries offer a more intimate and comfortable way to experience the artworks, allowing visitors to view the paintings up close and appreciate their details. The overall museum experience is elegant, well-paced, and thoughtfully curated, making it suitable for both art enthusiasts and first-time visitors.
Entry to the Musée de l’Orangerie is easy and convenient. Simply present your pre-booked voucher at the dedicated entrance for ticket holders. After a brief security check, you can walk directly inside and begin your visit.
After exploring the museum, continue your Parisian experience with a relaxing one-hour Seine River cruise. This scenic journey offers a completely different perspective of the city as you travel along the historic river that flows through the heart of Paris.
Once your Seine River cruise ticket is downloaded, head to the Bateaux Parisiens pier near the Eiffel Tower. As the boat glides past the riverbanks, admire UNESCO-listed scenery and iconic Paris landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, the Louvre Museum, the Musée d’Orsay, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and several magnificent bridges.

The Seine River cruise offers a calm and immersive way to discover the capital, complementing your museum visit perfectly. Together, the Musée de l’Orangerie and the Seine River cruise create a well-rounded cultural experience, combining world-class art with some of the most beautiful sights Paris has to offer.
Fantastic - what an amazing museum. Small, but perfectly formed. Loved it
Great way to get tickets we couldn’t book any other way. Seamless and great value. Made it possible to have a great experience we would have missed.
Museum was as glorious as we expected, not large, but the art on display was amazing. Boat ride was great. Really informative.
Très bien mais je trouve un peu cher
Good for when you dont have tickets to neither and dont want to wait
Cruise was brilliant and very little queue. The water lily paintings are stunning but we did wait an hour to go in. Worth it but plan time in your itinerary to wait.
How fantastic to see the Water Lilies installation. A really lovely opportunity to be reflective amongst the serenity of the images. Would 100% recommend. The trip down the Seine was excellent with views and commentary in a variety of languages. Opportunity to take photos of Parisian architecture without the crowds!
Excellent value for money! I originally booked this for the Orangerie Museum and saw the Seine cruise as a bonus, but it ended up being one of the highlights of the day. I was a little worried because there was no timed entry on the ticket, but it wasn’t an issue at all. I actually preferred the flexibility of joining the next available admission queue. The museum was busy, as expected, but well organised and really informative. We paid an extra €5 for the audio guide, which was definitely worth it. The river cruise was easy to get to by bus and, again, having no fixed departure time was great. We boarded quickly despite it being busy, there was plenty of seating, and the cruise lasted around an hour. A free audio guide is available via QR code, so bring earphones. Seeing landmarks like Notre-Dame and Pont Neuf from the water was fantastic. I’d highly recommend this ticket.
